I am across an amazing resource to bolster your understanding of emergencies involving implanted pacemakers. Art Wallace is the Chief of Anesthesia at the San Francisco VA. He has developed this handout on pacemakers that I know you will love.

This is wonderful Scott . Very easy and efficient . I finally learnt the language of pacemakers

  2. Walter Himmel says

Very helpful. If you remove the magnet, dies the pacemaker go back ti the original mode?

in all the ones I’ve come across, yes-remove the magnet and it reverts back to original programming. But each one is different, so if you magnet a pacemaker, it probably should get checked by interrogation at some point.
